2026 Newsletter 4

Dear Families,

As a Catholic community, we also take time to reflect on the significance of Easter, which we celebrated over Term 1 holidays. We rejoice in the joy of the resurrection of Jesus – He has risen! This important season reminds us of renewal, faith, and the strength of our community.

Welcome back to Term 2. It has been a beautiful, sunny start, and it was wonderful to see so many of our families attending the recent Learning Conversations with our homegroup teachers. These meetings provide a valuable opportunity to share the learning taking place in classrooms and how we are supporting each student’s progress.

Term 2 is already shaping up to be a busy and exciting time for both students and staff. There are many excursions planned, along with a range of sporting opportunities for students to be involved in. We are also looking forward to the return of our swimming program, which will take place toward the end of the term.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a productive and rewarding term ahead.

Warm Regards,

Michelle

The Orange Door – Free Help for Families

At our school, we care about the safety, wellbeing, and happiness of all students and families. Sometimes families need extra help. This may be because of:

  • worries about a child’s behaviour, learning, or wellbeing

  • parenting challenges

  • relationship problems

  • family violence

  • feeling unsafe at home

The Orange Door is a free service that helps children, young people, and families get support quickly.
You do not need a referral, and there is no cost.

The Orange Door can support families with:

  • parenting advice and support

  • child and young person wellbeing

  • family relationships

  • family violence and safety concerns

  • young families who feel alone or unsupported

  • help for young people using violence at home

  • support for adults who want help to change harmful behaviour

The Orange Door can help by:

  • talking with you about what support you need

  • helping make a safety plan if someone is making you feel unsafe

  • connecting you with helpful services such as:

    • counselling

    • housing and accommodation

    • mental health support

    • drug and alcohol services

    • parenting groups

    • financial support

    • legal help

  • helping with some basic living costs

  • supporting children and young people to be safe and well

How our school may help

Our school may talk with students or families about contacting The Orange Door if extra support may help.

We usually encourage families to contact the service themselves.

Sometimes, the school may make a referral without telling the family first if we believe this is needed to keep a child, young person, or family member safe.

Keeping children safe

You can learn more about how our school keeps children safe by reading our Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy and Child Safety Code of Conduct on our school website.

🏀🏏 Year 6 Shine at the Tarneit District Summer Gala 🎾🏐

On Wednesday, March 25, our Year 6 cohort took to the courts and fields for the annual Tarneit District Summer Gala. It was a high-energy day of competition across the local area:

  • Basketball: Athletes battled it out at the Altona Sports Centre.

  • Cricket & Tennis: Students showcased their skills at Galvin Park.

  • Volleystars: Our teams displayed great agility at Tarneit Rise.

While the competition was fierce, what made us most proud was the sportsmanship on display. Beyond the final scores, our students demonstrated incredible teamwork and resilience. Congratulations to all our Year 6 students for representing our school with such pride. We can’t wait to see that same momentum in the upcoming winter sports season!

If you have received any PSG meeting minutes, please make sure they are signed and returned to the school office as soon as possible.

In the coming weeks, students with medical needs will be issued Health Support Plans by the Learning Diversity Leaders. Please also ensure these are signed and returned promptly to the school office.
