2026 Newsletter 5
Dear Parents and Families,
Over the past few weeks, there has been much to celebrate across our school community.
Congratulations to all students who participated in the recent District Cross Country event, particularly those who have progressed to the next level of competition. We are proud of the determination, perseverance and sportsmanship shown by all students involved and wish our successful runners every blessing and success in the next stage.
Our Prep 2027 interviews are now well underway, and it has been a joy meeting many new families as they begin their journey with our school community. We thank families for the warmth and enthusiasm they have shown and look forward to welcoming our future Prep students for orientation in Term 4.
Thank you also to everyone who supported our Mother’s Day Breakfast. It was wonderful to see such a large turnout and to celebrate the important role mothers, grandmothers and special women play in the lives of our children. The morning was filled with joy, connection and community spirit.
We congratulate Lani Burston on graduating from her teaching course. This is a wonderful achievement, and we are delighted to celebrate this milestone with her as she continues her journey in Catholic education.
Over the coming weeks, our Year 6 students continue their preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Our Confirmation Presentation Masses are currently taking place, providing a special opportunity for candidates and families to reflect on this important step in their faith journey. With only a few weeks remaining until the celebration of the sacrament, we keep our Year 6 students in our prayers as they prepare to be confirmed.
Finally, excitement is building for the upcoming Year 5 Camp to Sovereign Hill. Camps provide valuable opportunities for students to build independence, strengthen friendships and engage in rich learning experiences beyond the classroom. We wish our Year 5 students and staff a wonderful and memorable time away.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support within our school community.
Warm Regards,
Michelle

Looking Ahead
August 22 (Sat):First Eucharist
🔔 Learning Starts at 8:50am.
To ensure students are settled and ready for learning, teachers mark the roll promptly at 8:50am when the bell rings. We kindly ask families to have children arrive earlier to allow time to reach classrooms, organise belongings, and prepare for the day ahead.
⏱️ Late Arrivals
Drop-off: Any cars that have not crossed the pedestrian crossing by 8:50am will be required to park, and parents or carers will need to accompany their child to the office to sign in.
Late Arrivals: All Students arriving after 8:50am must be signed in at the office by a parent or carer. Students are not permitted to sign themselves in.
⏱️ Early Pick Ups
Please be advised that the school office is unable to facilitate student pick-ups during the following break times:
Lunch: 11:10 am – 11:40 am
Snack: 2:00 pm – 2:30 pm
Due to the large number of students in open play areas, opening the gates during these times is a child safety risk. To ensure a smooth transition, please arrange all early departures before or after these periods.
Please note: Pick ups after 3:00pm are NOT permitted.
🔔 Dismissal - School finishes strictly at 3:20pm.
A reminder that school pick-up is strictly at 3:20pm. We strongly recommend all families to register with Extend, our OSHC provider to assist in unforeseen circumstances where you may be delayed in collecting your child.
Terms 2 & 3: Full Winter Uniform Reminder ❄️
Now that we are settling into the term, a friendly reminder that all students are required to wear their full winter uniform. As the weather cools down, please ensure your child is prepared and dressed in accordance with the school's winter dress code for both Terms 2 and 3.
OUTSIDE SCHOOL HOURS CARE (OSHC)
We highly recommend that all families register with our OSHC provider, 'EXTEND'. Registering is a smart safety net—it ensures your child is cared for in a familiar environment if you are ever delayed or face an unexpected emergency at pick-up time.
Even if you don't plan on using after-school care, having an active registration acts as an essential safety net for those days when you are unexpectedly caught in traffic or held up for any reason.
Year 4 Excursion to Werribee Open Range Zoo 🦓🦒
What a wild day! Monday, April 27th, our Year 4’s headed to Werribee Open Range Zoo for an unforgettable African safari adventure. From discovering new facts, spotting the adorable baby lion cubs to seeing rhinos and giraffes in their habitats from the safari bus, the students were buzzing with excitement! We were so impressed by the enthusiasm and curiosity shown by every class, but even more proud of how well they followed our core values. They were safe, respectful, and responsible from start to finish. Well done, Year 4!
Year 6 Confirmation
As our Year 6 candidates prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Thursday, 11th June, we invite the community to keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Following his visit last week, Bishop Martin expressed his sincere commendation for the students and the way they represented our community.

Celebrating Our PBL Success: 🍕Pizza Lunch!

It was a joy to see the students enjoying their reward together and seeing firsthand that positive actions lead to great results.

Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) are currently reviewing the Personalised Learning Plan (PLP) format and would truly value your thoughts and insights.
PLPs are designed to clearly capture each child’s strengths, needs, goals, adjustments, and progress, and we want to ensure they are as clear and helpful as possible for families.
This short survey focuses on how easy the PLP is to understand and invites your suggestions on how the format could be made clearer, more accessible, and more user‑friendly.
Please note that when you submit the survey, your details (such as name and email address) will not be automatically collected unless you choose to provide them.
The survey will be open until Monday 25th May 2026.
Thank you so much for taking a moment to share your feedback. Your voice is greatly appreciated and will help inform meaningful improvements.
