Principal Message….

Dear Parents,

This morning, we held our annual Easter Bonnet Parade, our tradition where students get to showcase their creativity by designing and decorating their own hats. It's always a joyful event filled with laughter, colourful displays, and a strong sense of community spirit. It was wonderful to see the dazzling bonnets that our students (and I’m sure their parents LOL!) created this year!

As we prepare for the Easter celebrations, it's important to remember the true meaning of Easter – a time for reflection, renewal, and spending quality moments with our loved ones. Term 1 has been a journey of growth and learning for all of us, and I want to express my gratitude to each and every one of you for your hard work and dedication.

To our students, I want to commend you for your efforts throughout Term 1. Your enthusiasm for learning and your willingness to embrace new challenges are truly inspiring. Keep up the great work, and remember to take some time to have fun and enjoy the break.

I also want to extend my thanks to our teachers, staff, and families for their support to our school community. Your contributions make a difference every day, and I'm grateful for all that you do.

As we bid farewell to Term 1 and look ahead to the adventures that await us in Term 2, I wish you all a peaceful, joyful, and blessed Easter break. I encourage you to take this opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy the company of family and friends

Warm regards,

Michelle

We welcome Sarah Devine as our new Year 6 teacher. She joins us from Lumen Christi in Point Cook. Sarah brings with her many years of experience and has a great passion for teaching.

At SFA we have recently employed a school Nurse. Sarah Baker comes to us with numerous years of nursing experience. She first begun her nursing career in Caboolture Hospital in Queensland. Since then she has held numerous roles in nursing at many different hospitals. In a nursing shortage, we have been fortunate to employ a highly experienced nurse such Sarah to care after our students.

We are always amazed to see the healthy lunchboxes that so many children bring to school. Here are some reminders from our Family Handbook about the foods and drinks that we would like to see at school.

Students are asked to bring a HEALTHY recess snack and lunch to ensure they have the energy to enjoy the entire school day. A refillable bottle of water should accompany their food.  NO JUICE or other types of drinks are permitted.

CELEBRATING BIRTHDAYS

All students’ birthdays are acknowledged in the classroom and at a school level.  As such cakes, lolly bags and other items should not be sent to school to be given to classmates.

With the holidays upon us, we know kids might be tempted to spend more time glued to screens. Finding the right balance between "Screen Time and Green Time" is key to their happiness. We're pleased to share a resource from Inform and Empower that's packed with easy tips to strike that balance.

Child Car Seat Concerns.

It is the law for all children up to the age of 7 to be in a child restraint or booster seat when travelling in a vehicle.

Choosing the right child restraint for your child will depend on their age and size. See Child restraints, booster seats and seat belt readiness [PDF 3.9 Mb]

To keep your child safe, the restraint must also be properly adjusted, fastened, and fitted to the vehicle. Please ensure all children are restrained before driving away from school. If your child cannot quickly put on their seat belt, please park outside the school and walk into the school to collect your child/ren.
