Term 1: Week 5 2024

Parent Meet and Greet with Teacher 4th of March

School finishes at 12 pm

Principal Message….

Dear Parents,

Welcome back! We hope this 2024 school year finds you well and filled with excitement for the new year ahead. It is with great joy that we gather once again as a community to celebrate the start of this school term and the journey of learning and growth that lies before us.

We celebrated our return to school with a Welcome Back Mass at Thomas Carr. This was a wonderful opportunity for us to come together in prayer and thanksgiving. We thank all members of our community who joined us in this special celebration.

As we settle back into the rhythm of school life, it brings us immense joy to see our students embracing their learning with enthusiasm and determination. Their eagerness to engage in their learning and contribute positively to the school environment is truly commendable, and we are proud of each and every one of them.

In addition to our academic pursuits, we would like to remind you that the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be celebrated by our Year 4 students on the 29th of February. This sacrament provides an opportunity for reflection, forgiveness, and spiritual renewal, and we wish our Year 4 students our congratulations on this meaningful step in their sacramental journey.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated teachers, staff, parents, and guardians for their unwavering support and commitment to the holistic development of our students. Together, we create a nurturing and empowering environment where each child can thrive and grow in faith, knowledge, and character.

A reminder that we have our Meet and Greets for all our families. This is a chance for you to meet your child’s teacher and give them any relevant information about your child that will help make their school year a success for them. Once again, welcome back to St. Francis of Assisi Primary School! We look forward to a fantastic year ahead filled with blessings and achievements.

Please let anyone you know who has a Prep starting school in 2025 that our Prep Information night is next week- please read the flyer below for details.

Shrove Tuesday

Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Day, marks the day before the beginning of Lent, a period of reflection and preparation leading up to Easter. It is traditionally a time to indulge in rich foods before the fasting period of Lent begins.

Our school community came together to celebrate this occasion with joy and enthusiasm. Students were treated to a scrumptious pancake, generously provided by the efforts of our PIP team.

Our dedicated teachers and staff joined in the celebration by partaking in a pancake breakfast.

Overall, our Shrove Tuesday celebration was a resounding success, filled with laughter, good food, and cherished moments of connection within our school community. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed especially our PIP team, to making this event possible and look forward to more joyful celebrations in the future.

We recently welcomed Marty & Carley from Inform and Empower to the school to present to families. If you missed the session or would like to review any topics that were covered, they have now shared a presentation and resource pack with us.
